International Neuroeconomics Institute
Welcome “INI”
The International Neuroeconomics Institute (INI), created by Dr. Cheryl Chancellor-Freeland, strives to develop and nurture a community of neuroscience researchers at San Jose State University.
The INI lab focuses on mind-body research that combines neuroscience with other disciplines such as cognitive and social psychology to better understand the effects of stress. In addition to examining the effects of psychological reactions to stress, INI looks at the effects of mitigating factors such as social support, personality, sexual behavior, co-rumination, creativity, and nutrition.
Future goals for the INI lab include incorporating immunology-related research as well as launching research projects in connection with other universities across the globe.

The philosophy of the INI lab is to evaluate stress, its causes, and its outcomes. The lab currently explores a plethora of topics related to stress, including environmental causes, psychological and physiological outcomes, and stress measurement techniques.
